No experience required!! This class will consist of cardio, stretching & strength training while introducing motions, jumps, cheers, and tumbling. Learn technique and safety of basic stunting. No “flying” is performed.

developmentAL GYMNASTICS PROGRAMS
All Gymnastics Classes offer gymnastics fundamentals using gymnastics apparatus: balance beam, uneven bars, floor and vault. We follow USA Gymnastics Guidelines for all of our skill-based classes. At Gym Fusion we feel it is important to have hands-on instruction to provide a quality and experience and safe environment. Therefore, we try to maintain a student/coach ratio of 8:1 in our recreational programs. Keep in mind, your child progresses at their own pace. So, it is ok if your child needs to do the same level for multiple terms. When your child is ready to move up, your child's coach will let you know. Otherwise, please register for the same level. If your child has previous gymnastics experience, please set up a time for a quick evaluation!
Beginning Gymnastics, 1 hour/week
If you have completed less than 2 consecutive Terms of beginner gymnastics or have no experience we recommend enrolling for this level. Students 5 years and older will learn basic skills on all of the competitive gymnastics events. Students will work on body form and positions, strength and flexibility. Students progress at their own pace. We work on mastering the following skills before advancing to Intermediate:
Vault: run-hurdle-straight jump- stick
Bars: chin up pullover with wedge may, 2 cast and forward roll dismount
Beam: releve' walks, arabesque, stretch jumps
Floor: forward roll, backward roll, cartwheel, bridge, handstand
Intermediate Gymnastics, 1 hour/week
We strive for students to master their beginner skills in order to be moved to this class.However, if you have taken at least 2 consecutive Terms of beginner gymnastics with us, you may automatically enroll for this level. The Intermediate class is designed to slightly increase the training intensity placed on students while allowing them to continue to progress at their own pace. New skills are introduced and skills previously mastered in beginner level 1 are polished.
Major skills required for promotion to the next level include (but not limited to):
Vault: Arm circle straight jump, handstand free fall
Bars: chin up pull over, 3 cast back hip circle, front cut introduction
Beam: 3/4 handstand on low beams, pivot turns, cartwheel dismount from knee
Floor: vertical handstands, step hurdle cartwheel, backward pike roll, bridge kick over on wedge mat
Advanced Gymnastics , 1 hour/week
Enrollment in this class is by coach recommendation. This class is geared toward introducing students to the skills necessary for our compulsory team program without the stress and anxiety of competition. Major skills required for promotion to the next level include (but not limited to):
Vault: Arm circle straight jump up to mat stack and handstand flat back
Bars: 1 cast 2 back hip circles connected, front/back cuts, shoot throughs, mill circles, front hip circles
Beam: handstands, split jumps, side handstand dismounts
Floor: handstand forward roll, round off, backward roll to pike stand on ground, bridge kick overs and back handsprings
Rising Stars (Coach Invitation)
This class is geared toward introducing our younger students to the skills necessary for our team program without the stress and anxiety of competition. Enrollment in this class is by coach recommendation only and requires a year-round commitment from June-May. 1 hour/week
Pre-Team (Coach Invitation, try-outs required)
For girls who are interested in advancing to the competitive gymnastic team. 4 hours/week

Toddler Open Gym, (Monday's, October-February)
Jump, Roll & Run on our 50' carpeted spring floor. Our instructor is on site to monitor safety and will offer approx. 20 mins. of organized play. Your child may even get a chance to end the day with a jump into the foam pit or time to jump down the tumble track. Adults are required to remain on-site and are to help supervise their own children. This is a pay per visit class, but we ask for you to sign up in advance if at all possible. NO TODDLER OPEN GYM CURRENTLY SCHEDULED
Mommy & Me, 45 mins./week
This class is designed for children ages 18 months to 2 1/2 years of age and their caregiver. Jump, tumble, swing and balance. The emphasis of this class is self-confidence, coordination, gross motor development and FUN!! Basic gymnastics skills on all apparatus will be taught. Student/teacher ratio is 8:1.
Pre-school 3 yr. olds, 45 mins./week
These classes are designed to promote the fitness-related components and fine and gross motor skills. They learn basic gymnastics skills, but much of the class is designed to improve gross motor skills, coordination, balance, flexibility, strength, body awareness, etc.. Other important skills are emphasized in preparing these young children for school such as: listening skills, following directions, taking turns and spending fun time away from their parents. Student/teacher ratio is 8:2.
Pre-school 4 & 5 yr. olds, 45 mins./week
These classes are designed to promote the fitness-related components and fine and gross motor skills. They learn basic gymnastics skills, but much of the class is designed to improve gross motor skills, coordination, balance, flexibility, strength, body awareness, etc. This class builds a strong foundation for these students to move into more skill-based classes or other activity for school-aged children. This class also bridges the gap into school-aged classes. More skill-based activities will be emphasized. Student/teacher ratio is 8:2.
TUMBLING & TRAMPOLINE PROGRAMS
Tumble/Tramp I, 1 hour/week
This class is for boys and girls age 5 years old & older. Half of this class will focus on beginning tumbling skills such as forward & backward rolls, cartwheels, handstands, bridges & back bends. The second half of class will teach beginning trampoline skills with control and proper technique. These skills include: jumps, seat drops, swivel hips and front drops.
Tumble/Tramp II, 1 hour/week
This class is for boys and girls age 8 years old & older. This class focuses on similar skills as in the Tumble/Tramp I class, but is for a little older child who also has some tumbling experience. Children will advance to learn a back handspring.
Beginner Tumbling, 1 hour/week
This class is a co-ed class designed for ages 6+. Children in this class will build on basic tumbling skills and develop proper form and strong technique in order to build upon their skills. Skills learned are: bridges, bridge kick-overs, backbends, back walkovers, handstand forward rolls, front limbers, cartwheels and perfect round offs.
Intermediate Tumbling, 1 hour/week
Children in this class will build on basic tumbling skills and develop a strong technique and form in order to perform and land back handsprings. You’ll do drills, drills and more drills until you have every part of the back handspring…then you’ll be amazed at how quickly you can put them together into the actual skill. At Gym Fusion, you will learn your back handspring the right way…the safe way! Students work on various pieces of training equipment such as the spring floor, trampoline, power track, resi pit and loose foam pit.
Advanced Tumbling , 1hr./week
This class is designed for high school girls who are interested in sharpening their tumbling skills for cheerleading. Girls must have a back-handspring in order to enroll in this class.
"Little Ninja's" - Boys Tumbling, I hour/week
This is the same program as our "Gym Ninja's", but tailored to younger boys ages 5-8.
"Gym Ninja's" - Boys Tumbling, I hour/week
Gym Ninja's is a Boys Tumbling program. Whether you know a boy interested in gymnastics, a natural athlete, or one who simply has seemingly endless amounts of energy to burn, this is the program for you! This program is geared towards boys ages 8-12 and all skill levels.
Classes in the recreational boys tumbling program concentrate on building proper form on the floor exercise, strength training and flipping drills in an energetic & dynamic class environment. There is a strong emphasis placed on conditioning and strength building, as that is the basis for men’s gymnastics and tumbling skills. Boys in our program will learn the importance of combining goal setting and self-discipline with fun & enthusiasm!
